The Faculty of Astrological Studies was founded at 19.50 BST on 7th June 1948 in London, England.
The Faculty’s aim then and now is to raise the standard of astrological education. Since its establishment, the Faculty has become known worldwide as a first class astrological teaching body and its Diploma, the D.F.Astrol.S., is among the most highly valued and recognised international qualifications for the professional astrologer.

This is a practical course designed to help you bring together the basic building blocks of the chart – planets, signs, houses, angles and aspects – into an integrated chart interpretation.
This module involves the development of consultation skills and an understanding of the ethical issues which arise in client work. You will be encouraged to develop a high degree of self-awareness through the study of the synastry between yourself and your clients, and will learn how to integrate the wide range of natal and forecasting skills covered in the Diploma Course into an advanced chart interpretation.

World class tutors........
Toby is a Faculty tutor for both online classes and distance learning via email. He gained his Diploma in 2013 and joined the tutor team in 2017. Toby has been an educator throughout his career and he also works as a musician. Toby lives with his husband and two border collies in the remote community of Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia, on Canada's west coast.
is Programme Director of the distance-learning MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology and Associate Professor in Cosmology and Culture at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. His books include Mundane Astrology (with Michael Baigent and Charles Harvey), the definitive book on modern mundane astrology, the two-volume History of Western Astrology (Bloomsbury 2008-09) and Astrology and Cosmology in the World’s Religions (New York University Press, 2012).
is a London-based astrologer who gained the Faculty Diploma in 2008 and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in 2012. She is a tutor and the Treasurer of the Faculty. Her approach to astrology is inspired by Jungian ideas, particularly James Hillman’s concept of soul. She also teaches yoga, using yoga techniques to explore astrological themes.
is the creator of the Astro*Synthesis distance learning program which has been shaped from his experience as an astrological student, counsellor and educator. He is the author of many student publications, articles and books. Brian has his MA in Classics and Archaeology from the University of Melbourne and has been honoured with lifetime membership from the state, national and professional astrological organizations in Australia.
One of the highlights of the weekend is the Gala Dinner.
